Chris Martin works worldwide on high-end reportage photography for brand development, advertising, and editorial features. His photographic and project management skills are augmented by specialist assistants in the "real world photography" team who provide digital work flow and post-production knowledge, additional location lighting facilities, and project management when necessary.
Chris also offers dedicated corporate social responsibility project photography skills which have been in demand due to his background in environmental science and resource management with a community based work history in the rural communities of Africa and Latin America.
Location based photo shoots such as offshore oil platforms or underground in mining locations, at sea on commercial fishing boats, and aerial photography are a speciality. We offer shoot location management through our existing contacts as a result of our regional experience in 80+ countries worldwide.
Increasingly Chris spends a greater proportion of his time working on personal projects such as "The Architecture of Ubuntu" featured on this web site which is an ongoing study of African informal settlements from the air. Chris uses film as well as digital capture.
(by the photographer) "My photographic DNA has been created by experiences on road trips in the USA with my family from the age of 17 onwards and developed through an interest in environment and sustainability, surfing and adventure. It includes my Mexican and many African photo projects and draws directly from the wish to contribute and inform using photography to communicate issues and emotions. Over the last 5 years I have been drawn into contributing to breaking down the multitude of myths and misrepresentations of Africa and in trying to portray a positive Africa and the wider positive aspects of the developing world which has its own wisdom and its own values.
In Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America I have been lucky enough to work with talented people in corporate organizations, advertising and creative agencies, governments and NGOs. All these people are passionate about their business and the communities they represent so it has been easy for me to contribute in a positive and enthusiastic way as a project photographer.
With this unlikely and diverse mix of projects, clients and the wider multicultural influences I have been exposed to, I maintain a positive, balanced and informed view of the world."
